I will share one very important information for those wishing to purchase a Mac Mini 2011 model in the following configuration: Mac mini 2.3 GHz, 2 GB DDR3, 500 GB HD, Intel graphics card HD 3000 Graphics.
For information on other models see the official site of Apple:
http://www.apple.com/macmini/features.html
Value of initial investment: $599
This is the cheapest model of all current Apple computers.
The Mac Mini serves as an entertainment center is easy to connect to which TV or Monitor LCD / LED through the HDMI interface.
Well, at least in theory yes, but it is not something that happens and I’ll explain why thereafter, but the Mac Mini can be used as a workstation.
My complaint is that the image does not come out well defined in the LCD and LED.
The quality is very poor resolution, the fonts look like they were “washed”, the icons do not come out with an acceptable quality.
I bought my Mac Mini on 26/10/2011 at the store CTIS in Goiania, in Brazil.
The CTIS is Apple reseller and technical support.
For a week I was testing the video resolution in various LCD, LED and multiple HDMI-HDMI cables, DVI-HDMI, DVI-DVI adapter from Apple. None of these cables solved the problem.
I looked at various forums on the Internet and found the same problem with many other users, see the links below:

Complaints are many.
Search with Google: poor quality hdmi mac mini 2011 samsung
Monitors tested:
Samsung FX2490HD, 24″, Resolution: FullHD (1920×1080)
Samsung T220M, 22″, Resolution: 1650×1050
Samsung 2033, 20″, Resolution: 1600 x 900
Note: In all these monitors, using the same cables HDMI / DVI / VGA, the Windows and Linux operating systems produce perfect images.
TVs:
Samsung LN40B650T1MXZD FullHD 40″
Sony Bravia KDL-40EX705 LED FullHD 40″
Cables:
HDMI – HDMI
HDMI – DVI
Mini Displayport-VGA
None of the three cases was 100%. The VGA adapter from Apple despite being analog can still be a little better than HDMI on the Mac Mini.
On 03/11/2011 I have exhausted my patience to search the Internet.
I called Apple in Brazil.
The atendende very politely gave me several tests on the phone asking for tests on other monitors and cables.
He asked me after all these tests to reinstall Mac OS X Lion again. I did it and did not work.
He told me that if not resolved by reinstalling the system that would be necessary to connect the afternoon so they bound on Apple in the United States to see if they could find a solution.
In CTIS store, the technicians did testing on a Philips HD TV via HDMI and DVI and the problem persisted.
Also tested on a monitor from Samsung and LG 24 “and 23″ respectively and the problem persisted with both DVI and HDMI.
The technician told me then that the time of 7 days to return or exchange would last, because in fact they are not business days but calendar.
To avoid more wear, I accepted the “solution” that was awaiting a response from Apple.
I’ll have to wait 30 days for a Apple solution.
It will be a restriction of Apple?
It will be a design error?
It will be a special configuration?
A great frustration!
